Annually, the Order of the Arrow hosts a Program of Emphasis. In 2025, that POE was the National Council of Chiefs, an opportunity for youth leaders from across the nation to come together and share ideas, at Philmont Scout Ranch. I was brought on to finalize a design, drawing from drafts made by other designers.

Initial designs featured the Zia sun and the arrowhead logo. Due to the protected nature of the sun symbol, a change was required. After multiple calls between designers, no consensus had been reached.
Drawing inspiration from a vintage decal hanging on my apartment wall, I suggested a compass motif. This tied the event back to its roots, the first national scouting event in the United States. The similarities between the 1935 compass rose and my own logo are apparent.
As with any scouting event, a number of patches would be designed for this event. I was asked to produce the design with minor changes, including specialty logos and different color-ways.
